Having my parking permit has made a significant difference in my daily life. After surviving colon cancer, I now deal with severe neuropathy in my legs, which makes walking painful and difficult. I also have white matter disease, which affects my balance and makes me unsteady on my feet. Even short distances can feel overwhelming and unsafe.
My parking permit allows me to park closer to entrances, which reduces the physical strain on my legs and lowers my risk of falling. It gives me greater independence and confidence when I go to medical appointments, grocery shopping, or run errands. Without it, many everyday activities would feel nearly impossible or require assistance.
